No lines, no wait, no worries! It's all set.

I met my girl, Sarah, in the city the other day and had a great lunch at Dueminuti Healthy Pasta up on Capitol Hill with Allset.

Allset is a new service available in Seattle (along with 9 other cities in the US right now) that allows you to order your meal through an app on your phone. Think of it as Uber for dining out. It is simple to use because there are pictures and descriptions of the menu of the place you decide to go, and when you place an order, you can put in any special requests as well! You make a reservation of when you want to sit, and invite your friends to your table! They'll get a confirmation text where they can order a meal too. When you walk in to the restaurant, you just tell them you're dining with Allset and your food is already on its way to your table. You can get up and go when you please because you pay with your credit card that is saved in your app and you add the tip when the order is placed!

I invite you to go try it out!

Stand Up & Stand Out

I always thought that I would have to be going out to a fancy event to wear red. Those days are behind me now! Ever since being in Paris this summer I have had a thing for the color. I feel so classy in it and you can dress it up or down so easily! Just walking around Pike Place Market I felt like a girl in a summer dress and when I went out to dinner I felt appropriately "dressed up." Look good, feel good, right?

I thrifted this Alice + Olivia dress in the spring in Capitol Hill (super lucky find!) so I couldn't find the exact dress I am wearing in these images but I found some similar red dresses I thought you would like for these beautiful summer days. Most of them linked below are under $50 so it feels like you're going thrift shopping too! ;)

My Grandma once told me that a girl should never travel without a pair of little flats in her suitcase. I found these flats this spring just because I realized I didn't have a pair! They are the perfect travel flat because they are so slim, don't take up much space in a bag, and instantly make you ready for a dinner out on the town, and they're not just your average flat. They're a classic for any season!

Find Your Tribe

We joke and call ourselves a little Instagram Family, because we love going out, adventuring, making art out of our day-to-day, and just being together! Sarah & Larry are two that I know if I needed something, they would be there.

Finding your family, or your tribe, takes time. Just like everything, right? I sure haven't found my whole tribe yet and that's okay because I know I'm walking down the right path with these two right now.

"Your vibe attracts your tribe."

So get this, Sarah and I met through Instagram this past November. I photographed her at the Volunteer Park Conservatory (post linked here) because I saw she wanted to start a blog and went to the UW! I just re-read that post and look what I wrote, "As we got talking we both agreed that college is a time that should be celebrated and not overstressed by wondering what you're going to do with the rest of your life and how you're going to get there to fulfill your dreams. We're both going to work hard to inspire others to find that spark to cultivate the momentum to dream, wonder, and LOVE." (We're still headed in that direction, so cool!) At the time, I had messaged her, literally slid into her DM's, telling her I was looking to start exploring the city and photographing people and fashion, and wanted to get creative! I then met Larry this spring and the moment I saw him it felt like I had known him for a while, like he was an old friend. Crazy how sometimes your brain tells you something like that. It was a sign. Both these souls make me feel like I am 100% myself around them, there's no judgement, there is praise and understanding for ME to be ME!

"Find your tribe, love them hard."

I think Sarah and I had hung out only four times before starting to plan our trip to Paris this summer. Sometimes you just click with someone and you know that you're going to be friends for a long time.

Sarah is the one who encourages me to go after my craziest dreams, understands my intense, passionate energy, pushes me to think differently, appreciates the little, magical moments in life, brainstorms trips and adventures for the future, accepts me when I make mistakes, lifts me up when I get discouraged, reminds me why I started, inspires me to always do my best, and so, so much more.

Affirming My Love

First of all, how cute is this mailbox?! I was scouting locations for seniors and found this perfect little setup right by the beach! When I shot these images, the owner (who is an artist) came out and said hello! She was so sweet and enjoyed that we loved her mailbox surrounded by flowers so much.

Affirm your love! For yourself! It's so easy, we all do it, to put yourself down and count your flaws, how many things you would like to change about yourself. It is so self-deprecating and definitely doesn't get us towards our goals! At least for me, I know I have so many aspirations for myself and a lot of them come down to just loving myself.

So I've taken on this journey of a 30 Day Affirmation Challenge I adapted from Pinterest. I am trying to do a new one each day, but I've realized some affirmations take more than a day for them to sink in and somedays it totally slips my mind. I'm just doing the best I can and highlighting them when I am ready to move on to the next one. This 30 Day Challenge may end up being 60, or 90, but in reality, and hopefully one day it should become part of the way I talk to myself, I don't even question it, because I truly believe every affirmation I tell myself when I get anxious, nervous, discouraged, or even when I get too excited about something. I want to bring myself back to center and source,

"I accept myself unconditionally right now."

Below is all 30, and sometimes when I need to affirm myself and forget the one for whichever day I may be on, I always always always fall back on, "I love myself."

DAY 1: I love myself.
DAY 2: I can do anything I put my mind to.
DAY 3: I am getting better everyday.
DAY 4: I am important.
DAY 5: I am successful in whatever I do.
DAY 6: I am loved.
DAY 7: I am strong.
DAY 8: I am hopeful.
DAY 9: I am making things happen.
DAY 10: I persist with confidence.
DAY 11: I trust myself in making great decisions.
DAY 12: I embrace my fears fully and calmly.
DAY 13: I am a wonderful person.
DAY 14: I deeply love and accept myself.
DAY 15: I am able to solve problems creatively.
DAY 16: I am vibrant and have lots of energy.
DAY 17: I think like a winner.
DAY 18: I appreciate every moment of the day.
DAY 19: There is a solution to every problem.
DAY 20: I feel the joy of abundance.
DAY 21: The universe provides for my every want and need.
DAY 22: I see endless opportunities before me.
DAY 23: I am inspired to take action everyday.
DAY 24: I am powerfully positive in everything I think, do, and say.
DAY 25: I radiate positive energy.
DAY 26: Everything I do turns into success.
DAY 27: I am living my full potential.
DAY 28: I see the bright side in all situations.
DAY 29: I am in control of my life.
DAY 30: Today I will spread joy in random and beautiful ways.

If you decide to take on a challenge like this or already have a positive mindset of how you talk to yourself, send me a message! I would love to hear about your journey.

Mason Lake x Rosegal

Of course I'm saying yes to a lake day! We discussed dorm room decorations, enjoyed fresh fruit, played on the dock, and jumped in many times. I get such a high from swimming in fresh water that isn't freezing, the water got warmer than the air so I just wanted to stay in! Must be the Pisces in me. ;)

I know we are all looking for cute but affordable swimsuits these days, and I know it is not easy! Alissa, being the resourceful girl she is, found the cutest swimsuits at college budget-friendly prices over at Rosegal. The one she's wearing in the photos is under $10! I'm serious, I don't know how she does it. There are so many print bikinis that we love.

Her one piece fits her like a glove, is made of SOFT fabric and lets her be athletic in the water and not worry about any pieces coming off! Once Alissa showed me the website, I had about 20 tabs open... especially because they have more than just swimsuits! If you know Hallie and flowy things, I did some digging and found this dress, which I might just have to order.
I also have my eye on this one piecethis bikini, and this bikini too... With prices like this though, you could wear a different swimsuit every week!
Hope you're all enjoying a (savvy shopping) swimsuit season!! ;)

Community

One major thing that I've learned this past year is, you can't do it all alone. I tend to spend a majority of my time solo... I would (usually) rather journal, draft a blog post, put on a feel good Netflix show, or edit photos in my free time, but I'm slowly starting to come out of my shell when I'm with the people that let me be who I am, support my passions, and talk through ways to solve problems. I have noticed how special, (and how vital!) a community like this is... for everyone!

I want to start a little community on here. Comment, ask questions, tweet me, or directly message me on any social medias, I'll get back to you! I envision a tight knit community of do-gooders who love to learn from others! I also know that many of you may be younger, still in high school, or going to college, tackling many different parts of life. Because I never had siblings I feel like I may have missed out on some sort of mentorship, being an older sibling, or the younger one.

“Everyone you will ever meet knows something you don't.” -Bill Nye

I think all chapters in life are to be celebrated and sometimes we need a boost of encouragement!

Our vision is to foster a collaborative community which cultivates a group of passionate people!

Get ready to SHINE because guess what?
You are a STAR!

The Sun Stays Still

Instead of waiting for the Sun to rise, we're really just waiting for the Earth to spin.

As I'm in the mountains for most of the summer I am really trying to make the most of the outdoors by doing things like this. These mountains and open fields are only 30 minutes from our houses! It's always hard to set an alarm for a time that doesn't see the sun, but it sure is worth it... every. single. time. I have Amanda to thank for sending those texts to me that she's outside my house ready to go.

So many of us are together for sunsets but I think watching the sunrise with others is just as beautiful, maybe even more so. It's a totally different energy. One of hope and tranquility. I've realized more people listen in the morning. We're all much quieter humans, taking everything in, listening to the wildlife waking and feeling the warmth of the sun. Life seems much deeper, softer, just all around gentle and soothing.
