The Perfect Dewiness, Found.

For living in a pretty wet climate, I usually disregard moisturizing my face. During this fall season I was on the hunt for a moisturizer that checked all my boxes. I am very selective in what I use on my face because I had the worst acne in middle & high school and I don't what to load it up with a bunch of chemicals. This Humidify Cream by Cosmedix has turned out to be the ONE! It only uses those natural ingredients, gives you a soft, dewy, glow, acts as the perfect makeup primer, smells of citrus peels, and a little goes a long way!

I’ve started using this new hydrating cream and my skin feels so fresh & lively! Applying under my makeup in the morning and at night before bed (sometimes after using this detox mask) has given me that dewy look I love!

The Four: Framed

A week goes by pretty quickly these days.
I journal in lists, it eases my mind. So here's a life update! (in a list!)
  1. Gurmani, Larry, Sarah, and I like to play dress up, go out to brunch, walk around, and take our minds off our to-do lists. I highly recommend doing this once a week. It doesn't take that long and we always have fun doing it. Don't stress for 3 hours, you'll get your homework done, trust me.
  2. I've now tried pilates, cycling, and yoga classes at the gym here!
  3. I went to yoga three times last week and to two cycling classes.
  4. This summer Amanda showed me how to do a forearm/headstand but I couldn't get up. I've been practicing every morning and I can kick myself up into one for a bit now!
  5. My grandpa gave me noise cancelling headphones a while back and I've just gotten into using them. They're so comfortable and a lifesaver for studying... (and watching Netflix!) ;)
  6. I finally crossed something off my to-do list that I've been moving forward each month since May. I now have a Media Kit to send to companies and prospective clients of Hallie Kathryn!
  7. My roommate, Alissa, and I bought tickets to Hawaii for a week during Winter Break! Even though we have a couple months before we go, we can't stop looking up cute Airbnb's, activities to do, food to try, and hikes to go on. It's such a distraction from all our homework! If you have any recommendations, please send them our way!
  8. I've been listening to this meditation series lately and can totally tell a difference. Meditating in the mornings for seven minutes before I get ready sets a really good tone for my day.
  9. Remind yourself of what you are, not what you aren't. That person you envision yourself to be, you are. "I AM..."
  10. The best things in life happen when you least expect them to. ⤵

From yoga the other night:

"Leave room in your heart for the unexpected."

Fall Smells Like Cinnamon

Fall is my favorite season. It might be because it's always so quick, I never really get to enjoy all the things you can do. You can't really soak it up like you can the summer, or winter for that matter. I am obsessed with the warm tones everywhere and the golden light we find almost all day long. It's a gorgeous time of year. You can literally watch nature change through the leaves and the angle that the sun hits us throughout the day! Fall always catches me by surprise and then leaves with no warning. Although everything has a warm glow, the air gets more crisp and cold. It's a beautiful balance between senses, something I notice I  re-create in my art.

Right now I'm feeling so much pressure from myself to snap a bunch of photos in the tree-lined streets here in the city. I'm going to make it a point to take more walks this week because it brings me so much bliss.

Thing that are bringing me  j o y  right now:
hot chai tea
fresh air
yoga
little rain showers
pumpkins and gourds
thick blankets
soft sheets
leaves on the sidewalk
white noise
wind
cinnamon spice
& everything nice.

International District

Is it ok to wear the same jumper more than once a week? Haha I want to wear it everyday I love it! It was so hot the day Alissa and I walked down to the International District I was sweating so much up coming back up those hills... ;) Fall is here, the leaves are turning, but Seattle still has quite warm afternoons. We're savoring those before the winter grey hits.

This particular view in the International District has been on my radar for a while, I love this little gate over the street! We felt like we just hopped on a flight across the sea. All the sushi and Poké restaurants, noodle houses, and markets (Uwajimaya is a MUST) are so fun, it definitely doesn't feel like you're in Seattle! I've noticed that there are so many places that make you feel somewhere totally different which is something I love about this city!

Ever wonder what's in the bag? I'm stoked to tell you, my camera and an extra lens fits in that Kate Spade bag! I'm pumped to finally have a nice hand bag. I feel like I'm truly becoming a woman now... I loved using Sarah's bag when we were in Europe this summer. It was so handy because we fit everything we needed for a day and had extra room to stash those croissants. ;) Now I don't have to lug my camera bag around everywhere all the while looking (a little) less tourist-y...

Where's next on your list of places to travel? Comment below, I'd love to hear!

This is Home.

Alissa and I are living in the dorms again and we are pretty pumped about it. It's mostly a party with everyone around all the time but we can definitely find quiet time to recharge. I mean when are we going to have another chance to live so close with a bunch of friends our age, not have to clean a bathroom, and have hot food prepared for us? A bunch of friends who moved into apartments this year feel a little bummed they didn't stay in the dorms. I have to say, so far so good. We're liking it.

This summer I was asked what my goals are for this coming school year.

My reply: "  .    .    ."

I literally couldn't come up with anything! So I've tried to put some thought into this question because I believe I work very well when I have goals on my mind. I came up with three things I want to work on.

1. Try group fitness classes (like yoga, cycling, & pilates). Get into the mindset of moving. Feeling strong and capable in my body.

2. Say "YES!"

3. Don't take things too seriously, especially what other people think. We waste time worrying about what others think but it doesn't even matter because it doesn't effect what we do anyways. You do you, be yourself.

Happy October! I did laundry today, vacuumed, and tidied up. It's a new month, a new list of things to do, a new list of goals to achieve!

On my mind:

Imagine if we obsessed about the things we love about ourselves.
 &
If it doesn't open, then it's not your door.
