The Last Picnic

My buds and I spent one of our last evenings together picnicking at a park before I headed off to Spain for a semester abroad with a lot of hugs and laughs. These people have big places in my heart and know that we'll be seeing each other sooner than it feels like.

Leaving for Spain was a sense that left a bitter sweet impression. I am leaving a life of friends I call home, favorite places, and routines in my life that feel good and exactly like I have wanted them to be. I have nurtured the people and places in Seattle which have had positive impacts in who I am and who I want to be.

The catch is, they have all led me here.

I am doing exactly what I am supposed to do. Although I am sad to leave a beautiful life (for only a couple months), I know that there will be beauty on the other side if I look and cultivate it. This will certainly be a feeling that will follow me and one I am excited to learn how to notice and talk to. It's part of what happens when you love, love, & love in more than one place in the world.

It's not good-bye, it's see you later.

Hasta luego.

Caitlin & Fritz ♥

This was an absolute dream. The minute I met Caitlin and Fritz before their big day, I had visions of what we were going to shoot. Now that I look back, I remember them walking in a field with Caitlin in a somewhat navy blue dress. These two are the sweetest to work with, they took me in as family and through this embrace, I think we were able to capture some moments that will be really special to look back on.

We shot the morning before their celebration so it was relaxed and we could get a feel for what we wanted to do and how we wanted to share their story. Caitlin & Fritz started (9 years ago) while dating Junior year of high school when Fritz came to study abroad. Because he's from Berlin, they had friends and family join them from all over the world. It was a truly special night and I feel so lucky to have been there with them. In an intimate garden party, they celebrated with their loved ones and was the first time that parents, host parents, best friends, and significant others were all in one spot at the same time.

I hope you feel some of the magic that is born when two people bring the world together and call it a home.

Nicole W. | Class of 2019

This girl is so sweet and bubbly, it was so fun to shoot with her because she was so excited. I saw her find her confidence throughout the shoot, and this is why I love photographing seniors so much. She let go, embraced, and moved through this new experience that she thought was fun! Her favorite part about herself is that she is empathetic towards others. Lately, she has been working on loving herself, and not being afraid to do so.
